Analysis The fact that the Justice Department has been slow to prosecute the culprits who initiated the recent global financial crisis has only acted to reduce investor and consumer confidence. As a result, the economy has been growing at a slower rate t han anticipated, and this has prompted the Federal Reserve Bank to revise the countryââ¬â¢s growth rate downwards. When the economy fails to attain the predicted rate of growth, this results in low consumer sentiments. When consumers are less optimistic about the economic growth rate, their spending and saving rates are likely to decrease (Colin 2008, para. 3). Stimulus packages are therefore a way of stimulating the economy when faced with slow growth. Other measures that a government can institute to deal with a sow rate of economic growth are to impose tax cuts and facilitate temporary spending. Economists suggest that such moves add to deficits initially. In the long-term though, these measures could lower costs for safety-net programs, increase tax collections and in the end, maintain smaller deficits than would be the case with lowering unemployment and spurring growth (Cooper 2008, p. 208). Stimulus spending is supported by the Keynesian economic theory which states that w hen the government seeks to spend a huge chunk of borrowed money, this helps to boost the economy (Davidson 2009 p.18). Economic historians have maintained that the US made it through the Great Depression thanks to Keynesian-style spending. Besides stimulating the economy, there is the need also to ensure that we reduce deficits especially when faced with shrinking revenues. A stimulus package pumps money into the economy albeit temporarily, thus encouraging consumer spending. Businesses are also encouraged to hire more employees. In 1906, at age 19, he began his preparations for a military career at the Paoting Military Academy in North China, later serving in the Japanese army from 1909 to 1911, where he adopted the Spartan ideals of the Japanese Samurai warriors. In Tokyo, Chiang fell in with a group of young revolutionaries plotting to overthrow Chinaââ¬â¢s Qing dynasty ruled over by the Manchu clan. Association With Sun Yat-sen After an attempt to overthrow Yuan Shikai failed in 1913, Chiang helped found the Kuomintang (KMT) party. The LIFE Picture Collection/Getty Images / Getty Images Attempting to reorganize the KMT along communist lines, Sun Yat-sen sent Chiang to the Soviet Union in 1923 to study the policies and tactics of its Red Army. After returning to China, he was appointed as commandant of Whampoa Military Academy near Canton. As Soviet military advisers streamed into Canton to teach at Whampoa, Chinese communists were admitted into the KMT for the first time. Anti-Communist Leader of the KMT When Sun Yat-sen died in 1925, Chiang inherited leadership of the KMT and began trying to stem the rapidly growing influence of the Chinese communists within the party without losing the support of the Soviet government and military. He succeeded until 1927, when in a violent coup, he expelled the communists from the KMT and quashed the Chinese labor unions they had created. Hoping his communist purge would please U.S. President Calvin Coolidge, Chiang succeeded in establishing closer relations between China and the U.S. government.à Chiang now continued to reunify China. As supreme commander of the Nationalist revolutionary army, he directed massive attacks against northern tribal warlords in 1926. In 1928, his armies occupied the capital in Beijing and established a new Nationalist central government in Nanking headed by Chiang. The Xian Incident and World War II In 1935, even as the Empire of Japan threatened to occupy Northeast China, Chiang and his KMT continued to focus on fighting Communists within China rather than the external threat of the Japanese. In December 1936, Chiang was seized by two of his own generals and held hostage in Chinaââ¬â¢s Xian Province in an attempt to force the KMT to change its policies regarding Japan. Held captive for two weeks, Chiang was released after agreeing to actively prepare his armies for war with Japan and to form an at least temporary alliance with the Chinese communists to help fight the Japanese invaders. With the horrific Japanese Rape of Nanking massacre in 1937, all-out war between the two countries erupted. Chiang and his armies defended China alone until 1941, when the U.S. and other Allies declared war on Japan. Post-World War II and Taiwan While China held an honored place among the Big Four allied victors of WWII, Chiangââ¬â¢s government began to decay as it resumed its pre-war struggle against internal communists. In 1946, the civil war resumed and by 1949, the communists had taken control of continental China and established the Peopleââ¬â¢s Republic of China. 1943-Cairo, Egypt: President Roosevelt seated outside during the Cairo Conference with Mr. and Mrs. Chiang Kai Shek, and Winston Churchill. Over the next two decades, Chiang reformed his Nationalist Party, and with ample American aid began Taiwanââ¬â¢s transition to a modern and successful economy. In 1955, the U.S. agreed to defend Chiangââ¬â¢s Nationalist government on Taiwan against future communist threats. However, the pact was weakened in the early 1970s by improving relationships between the U.S and the Peopleââ¬â¢s Republic of China. In 1979, four years after Chiangââ¬â¢s death, the U.S. finally broke off diplomatic relations with Taiwan in order to establish full relations with the Peopleââ¬â¢s Republic of China. Personal Life Chiang had four wives during his lifetime: Mao Fumei, Yao Yecheng, Chen Jieru, and Soong Mei-ling. Chiang had two sons: Chiang Ching-Kuo with Mao Fumei, and Chiang Wei-Kuo, whom he adopted along with Yao Yecheng. Both sons went on to hold important political and military positions in the Kuomintang government in Taiwan. Born and raised a Buddhist, Chiang converted to Christianity when he married his fourth wife, Soong Mei-ling, popularly called ââ¬Å"Madam Chiangâ⬠in 1927. He spent the rest of his life as a devout Methodist. Death Months after suffering a heart attack and pneumonia, Chiang died of cardiac malfunction and renal failure on April 5, 1975, in Taipei at the age of 87. The placing is awkward, thus making it difficult for the consumers to use. Moreover, since the CD player is portable, the usability and smoothness of the buttons play a major role, since they have to be used on the go. But rather than being extremely user friendly, their placing is not up to date, making it inaccessible to the consumer easily. These buttons are very small in size, thus this result in pressing some other button when the consumer intends to press a specific button. The button of switching between the AM and FM also looks very out of place, since its look is very different from the rest of the player. It is made of very thin rubber, which doesnt complement the stylish outlook of the remaining CD player. The design is perfect when the entirety is in congruence with each other. Second issue with the product design is that of the SonicStage software that comes with the player. The problem with it is that it is too slow in function. The software is supposed to compress the music of consumers, such that the quality is maintained and it can easily fit into one single CD. But the problem starts when the software is converting the MP3 format of the song to the ATRAC format of the Sony CD player. This process is very sluggish, and takes place at a snails pace, thus eating up a lot of time of the consumer and also increasing their frustration with the slowness of it. Moreover, as promised that the quality of the songs would not change, this does not happen to. The songs are now of lesser quality than they originally were, after the conversion has taken place. Overall, I feel more able to incorporate the immediate environment and activities to overcome difficulties in accessing stimuli more effectively for the visual and physically impaired pupils. Pupil Z observation in class The sensory story began with an adult verbally indicating ââ¬Ëit is time to go to the Chocolate factoryââ¬â¢ and playing ââ¬ËCharlie and the Chocolate Factoryââ¬â¢ introductory song on the plasma screen. Pupil Z was in his normal activ ity time positions, in his wheelchair with a table in front of him to access objects and equipment. Pupil Z worked one-to-one with an adult sitting on the side of his wheelchair. It was evident that Pupil Z was making head movements toward the source of sound and making arm movements at the sides of his chair. Next an adult leading the activity asked ââ¬Ëwho wants a golden ticket to go to factory?ââ¬â¢ and the shiny golden tickets were passed around to each pupil to take one. It was evident that the smooth texture of the golden ticket was not very motivating for Pupil Z to explore co-actively with the adult support when the song ââ¬ËGolden ticketââ¬â¢ was played on the plasma screen. Instead Pupil Z was thoroughly enjoying listening to the song by smiling, laughing and making lots of intentional head movements rather than co-actively exploring the ticket. When the music stopped the adult leading the activity indicated ââ¬Ëthe train has arrived, all aboardââ¬â¢ and pupils were encouraged to give their tickets to an adult. The adult working with Pupil Z lifted his left arm and placed the golden ticket in his hand without any verbal indication. This lasted a few seconds before the adult released his left arm and took away the golden ticket. Pupil Z naturally seemed to have a very steamy look on his face. The sound track of the train raiding playing in the background seemed to have a very calming effect on him after experiencing this unexpected movement. When the pupils arrived at the chocolate room the adult leading the activity indicated ââ¬Ëwe are in the chocolate roomââ¬â¢ and further added ââ¬Ëwhat can you smell? what can you smell?ââ¬â¢ All adults repeated ââ¬Ëchocolate, chocolate, mmm mmm mmm!ââ¬â¢ The two types of coco butter were passed around to be smelt. When Pupil Z was presented with the choice of two butters to smell he made a sound and after a brief period of time began lifting his arms. He used the tactile search to localise one of creams put on his table. Unfortunately, this cue was missed by an adult who passed this cream to another pupil to explore. When all the pupils had experienced the smell of the two coco butters it was time to explore ââ¬ËChocolate Riverââ¬â¢. The plastic bowl with milkshake was passed around. Pupil Z was encouraged to co-actively hold the wooden spoon and stir the milkshake. The American Constitution The basis of all law in the United States is the Constitution. This Constitution is a document written by "outcasts" of England. The Constitution of the United States sets forth the nation's fundamental laws. It establishes the form of the national government and defines the rights and liberties of the American people. It also lists the aims of the government and the methods of achieving them. The Constitution was written to organize a strong national government for the American states. Previously, the nation's leaders had established a national government under the Articles of Confederation. But the Articles granted independence to each state. They lacked the authority to make the states work together to solve national problems. After the states won independence in the Revolutionary War (1775-1783), they faced the problems of peacetime government. The states had to enforce law and order, collect taxes, pay a large public debt, and regulate trade among themselves. They also had to deal with Indian tribes and negotiate with other governments. Leading statesmen, such as George Washington and Alexander Hamilton, began to discuss the creation of a strong national government under a new constitution. The United States is a republic that operates under a federalist system. The national government had specific enumerated powers, and the fifty states retain substantial endowment over their citizens and their residents. Both the national government and the state government are divided into three different branches, executive, legislative, and judicial. Written constitutions, both federal and state, form a system of separated powers. Amendment, in legislation, is a change in a law, or in a bill before it becomes a law. Bills often have amendments attached before a legislature votes on them. Amendments to the Constitution of the United States may be proposed in two ways: (1) If two-thirds of both houses approve, Congress may propose an amendment. The amendment becomes a law when ratified either by legislatures or by conventions in three-fourths of the states. (2) If the legislatures of two-thirds of the states ask for an amendment, Congress must call a convention to propose it. The amendment becomes a law when ratified either by the legisl... ... juries in some states may have as few as 6 members. The jury or judge hears the evidence for and against the defendant and then reaches a verdict. If the individual is found guilty, the judge pronounces sentence. If the defendant is found not guilty, he or she is released. In most cases, the judge determines the sentence for a defendant convicted of a crime. The judge imposes punishment that he or she feels will best serve both the offender and society. Laws may provide a maximum and a minimum sentence according to the crime involved. In some cases, the recommendation of the jury determines the sentence that may be given to the offender. The judge may put a convicted offender on probation to protect the individual from the harmful effects of being imprisoned with experienced criminals. A lawbreaker who is on probation remains free but must follow certain rules. A probation officer assigned by the court supervises the individual's conduct. A probationer who violates any of the rules of his or her probation may be sent to prison. Some judges require offenders to repay their victims, either with money or by working for them without pay.

1.) Cultural differences have a great effect on how Renault-Nissan operates in South Africa. South Africa is known for its ethnic and cultural diversity. Therefore, in my opinion they would need managers that know the country and how its people do business. Though some of South Africa is a lot like Western Europe, there are eight different languages spoke in South Africa, so having a person from Rosslyn managing the plant would be beneficial. South Africa has been referred to as the ââ¬Å"rainbowâ⬠nation, I believe that in order for Renault-Nissan to be successful they will have to do their homework and find a person that knows the countryââ¬â¢s customs and traditions to lead them into an emerging market in South Africa. 2.) Culture is a huge factor in Auto sales. For example, in Europe gas is around $8.00 a gallon, if Ford took their F-250 (which gets around 12mpg) into the European market it would fail miserably. It is not because the Ford F-250 is not a quality truck, it is because this truck does not fit into what is now part of the European culture. Also Europeans do not have the same tastes in cars that Americans do so, car companies do research to find out what Europeans look for when they are buying a car. This is how culture affects the auto industry. 3.) I do not believe that it is possible for a car company to transcend national culture and produce a global automobile that is accepted by people in every culture. Though car companies can get away for making a regional automobile for a specific region of the world, there are too many cultural differences that that affect each market to make a ââ¬Å"worldwideâ⬠vehicle. Like I said before Europeans have different tastes in automobiles than Americans, Africans, Chinese, Japanese, Indians, and the rest of the world.

They founded the Chesapeake colonies such as Virginia in 1607 and Maryland in 1634 they founded the New England colonies such as Massachusetts in 1630, Connecticut in 1635, Rhode Island is 1636 and New Hampshire in 1639. Both the New England colonies and the Chesapeake colonies started as similar colonies but developed into different societies.
